Hello. My name is Kristina and I moved to Folsom about two years ago. I have recently taken AP World History, so I will be more prepared to take the US history class. Also, I chose to take APUSH in order to challenge myself and be prepared for a college work material. By taking AP Us History, it would be a great opportunity to learn more about the United States in detail. I hope to learn more about how people were affected by the Great Depression and pass the AP exam.
Hey, I’m Ashu, and though it’s not my real name, I go by Ashu so everyone can have an easier time with my name and because some people in my past started calling me Ashu for short, which stuck on. Ironically, it didn’t make it a whole lot easier for people to pronounce my name, and some examples are too horrific to share. Along with my nickname as Ashu, others like to name me Harry Potter, even though I don’t think I really look like Harry. As far as my nicknames go, that’s as far as it goes, and getting back to business, I joined APUSH because I heard about regular history from some friends, and I heard they got extra credit for bringing their books to school, so I decided I couldn’t be a part of that. Also, I decided I should learn the best I can about the country I live in. As far as what I hope to get out of the class, I hope to learn about US history and apply it so that I not only become a better historian, but a better writer.
Hi, I'm Sam. I've lived in Sacramento my whole life, I have one brother, and a cat. I sighed up for APUSH because it offers more challenging course work than normal U.S History, and I enjoy History as a subject. By the end of the term, I hope to be well prepared for the AP Exam. I am interested to learn about the World Wars and the Cold War.
Hey. I'm Jacy-Anne, but I go by Jacy. I'm on the swim team and am definitely more of a warm weather person than someone who thrives in the cold. I'm taking APUSH since I took AP World History last year and it seemed like the next step. I like history to some extent anyway, so I'll probably enjoy the class. I hope that I learn history well enough to get a high score on the AP exam and to learn more about my country. Also, I'd like to learn historical facts that I can use in my writing as evidence of points that I argue.
Hi my name is Phillip lewin. I have lived in Folsom my whole life. I have a sister in grad school at George Washington and another sister that is a sophomore in college. I wanted to take AP US history because regular history was way to easy for me so I needed something with a little bit more challenging things in it. I am also with Sam though I like history and would like to know a little more bout the cold war and the world wars.
Hey I'm Bre. I have three sisters, a dog and a cat. I work as a hostess as Mimi's Cafe and I enjoy editing videos in Media Production and on the Broadcast, and it is something I would like to pursue after high school. Both of my parents are teachers, and my dad is a conservative Republican and who often discusses US government and history with me because he used to teach that subject in High School. My mom, on the other hand is a Liberal Democrat who tries to provide me with the other side of the story. Because I was surrounded in this environment, History has always been a favorite subject of mine and I would love to learn more about some of the subjects my dad and I briefly talked about, such as the Watergate Scandal or what ensued after The American Revolution. For me, I am not taking this course for the AP credits because I have already decided on going to a college that has virtually a 100% admission rate. It is because I love the subject and would love to dive deeper into it, and I hope that by the end of the term I can come out knowing what my views are as an American and how everything has led up to today.
Hello. I am Morgan Theis. I have lived in Folsom my whole life but I travel a lot. I have a sister and two dogs. I signed up for APUSH because I enjoy history and with that took the chance to get a higher GPA taking this class. I hope this will prepare me for the AP exam and I would like to learn more about the World Wars and more recent US History.
Hey there, I am Nicole Lemon and I am a 16 year old, weaving through the ever stressful high school. Currently I am ASB Secretary of Vista and I dedicate most of time to student government projects on the side of AP classes. I also was a sports trainer for Vista's football team and I had a lot of fun tending to medical needs of athletes. I took APUSH primarily because I LOVE US History but also to gain credits for college. I hope to get a 5 on the exam and A's both terms, I have huge goals this term and I know I might not reach them but I am willing to put in the work in order to succeed. I am ready to learn our US history in detail and I can't wait to begin this term!
Hi, I'm Krishna. I live in Folsom. I really wanted to take AP U.S. because it gives me a challenge and it gives bonus points to my GPA. I like history and it is my favorite subject. I really wanted to learn the past of this country. I am ready to learn about this country.
Hi! My name is Elizabeth Freese and I have lived in Folsom my whole life. I have three sisters and two dogs. I play basketball and history is my favorite subject. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to take APUSH, along with the fact that the added bonus to the GPA will help me to get into a good college. I hope to learn a lot more about United States history and hopefully grow from this class as a person.
Hey, my name is Trevor Meredith. However My Legal name is Lawrence Richard Meredith III. And being the third the common nickname "larry" for lawrence was taken by my grandfather two generations ago(thankfully), and My dad claimed Richard. So my mother nicknamed me Trevor because she had wanted to name her son Trevor and thats always been the name I go by, except for on school roll sheets, and goverment ID stuff (ie- Passports, Driver's license). I took APUSH because I've always liked history and i felt like I wanted to take the more in-depth look in on the subject. Hopefull i leave this class with a better knowledge of how our country is what it is today, and be prepared to take the APUSH Exam.
Hello, my name is Bianca Guzman. The first thing you should know about me is that I'm really short, so please don't ask me to get something down from a top shelf. I won't be able to reach it. Anyway, I'm taking APUSH because I'm terribly ordinary, yes I play sports, but I'm not the best, and I'm smart but not the smartest. In fact, I've never been the "-est" at anything. All I have is good work ethic. Yippee. And from this class, I want to get the knowledge that will allow me to pass the AP Exam and hopefully giving me a better shot at getting some financial aid for college. Thank God I have the right last name.
Hey, I’m Rachel. I don’t really know what to say about myself, except for I truly believe that procrastination is the key to success. I chose to take APUSH because the people in AP classes are always so much more exciting and witty and I find U.S History fairly interesting, as the histories go. I also am guilty, along with many others, I’m sure, of taking this class to bring up my GPA for college. But I’m sure it will be worth it.
Hey, whats up. My name is Rachel. I was born in San Francisco and moved to Folsom when i was four. Im currently 16 years old. I have a golden retriever named Buddy. I wanted to take this AP class because I wanted something challenging. I also took AP World last year so I thought it would be a good idea to take another AP history class. Also, taking this class would help me get into a good college by raising my GPA and showing I took a college class.
Hey y'all. I'm Ceril. I'm from North Carolina, so expect to hear words like "ain't" and "y'all" coming out of my mouth. It rubs of easy, so don't be surprised if you start using them. I chose to take APUSH cause when I realized that taking the normal class and then challenging the AP test ain't gonna give me the elevated GPA, so here I am. I'm hoping that this class will give me a better work ethic, time management skills, and an idea of how AP material is different from the normal curriculum.
Hey, I’m Caroline Reed Parmley. I’ve lived in Folsom my whole life, but I went to school in Loomis until eighth grade when I transferred to Folsom Middle. I have two cats, an older sister attending college, and two older than average parents. I’m a dancer, but I stopped taking professional classes freshmen year. I love fashion and art. My dream job would probably be a photographer, model (like that’s going to happen), or a fashion designer. I can promise you I won’t get the highest grade in the class; in fact I’m hoping just to pass. I’m ADD, but not on medication yet. Hopefully I’ll get some soon. I love learning, but I have a very hard time remembering to do assignments. I’m taking this class because I have two options: one I could take regular US history and have much less homework, but then have to take this US History in college or I could just take this class now get it over with. So I decided to go with the latter.
Hi I'm Steven. I was raised in Woodland which is a big contrast to Folsom and it makes me really appreciate where I live. I almost never smile but I'm almost always happy. I doodle in side margins all the time.. I hope that's okay. I want to be an English teacher when I grow up so if I ever stare at you I'm not being creepy, I'm analyzing your technique. Or I'm spacing out.
I joined APUSH because I sorta hate history so I know way too little about it and it's embarrassing. I want to get caught up and hopefully a harder curriculum will keep me interested. I'm a hardworker but this is going to be a struggle because history is probably my worst subject. But I will try!!!
Hi, I'm Dasha. I'm originally from Russia, but have been living in Folsom for a couple years now. I decided to take APUSH because I have always been somewhat intrigued history,so it seemed like a good choice seeing as it is more in depth than regular history--and it will hopefully raise my GPA for college:] So that's a plus!
I'm Dani. I enjoy school for the most part, but History is my worst subject, I'm more of a math person, I like seeing a right or wrong answer, which is probably why History frustrates me. Yet, I still take AP History classes in an attempt to learn more about my past--hopefully it will someday help me in my future.
